Alternate Realities (2014-2015)

A series of audio and video works about reality TV created using found footage. I began work on this series as a means to investigate my obsession with a genre that so glaringly clashes with my personal values. I began this project creating sound art from found audio clips with a goal of highlighting girl on girl animosity within these shows, but expanded my focus when I began to notice bizarre patterns in content and actions. The works below are made up of isolated moments where cast members are seen eating or crying and shifts the focus of the existing dramatic or comedic plotlines to these banal activities.
